Saudi Arabia and South Korea have reinforced their dedication to enhancing collaboration in the fields of artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, and technology investments. This commitment emerged from a series of high-level meetings held in Seoul, where Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Al-Swaha, along with Haytham Al-Ohali, Governor of the Communications, Space and Technology Commission, engaged with senior South Korean officials.
During these discussions, the focus was on fostering innovation, bolstering the digital economy, and supporting Saudi Arabia’s vision of becoming a global leader in artificial intelligence. Key topics included cooperation in AI, semiconductors, and digital infrastructure. The meetings underscored the importance of these areas in driving economic growth and technological advancement for both nations.
Moreover, the Saudi delegation explored ways to enhance digital government services by collaborating on unified government platforms, digital identity systems, and utilizing AI to improve public services. Discussions included potential partnerships between Saudi Arabia’s Digital Government Authority and South Korea’s Ministry of the Interior, aimed at sharing expertise and resources in these critical areas.
In a bid to boost technology investment and support local startups, Al-Swaha also met with the founder and CEO of APL Ventures. Their talks centered on identifying investment opportunities, facilitating the expansion of Saudi startups in international markets, and encouraging further technology investments within the Kingdom.
