Türkiye has once again expressed its readiness to facilitate peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, as noted by Kremlin foreign policy aide Yuri Ushakov. Speaking in the city of Kazan, Ushakov highlighted that Turkish authorities have been actively willing to offer a venue for discussions aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. This development comes after conversations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, underscoring Türkiye’s ongoing diplomatic role.
Despite Türkiye’s efforts, Ushakov pointed out that recent Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian soil have hindered the possibility of a direct meeting between President Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
