LG Electronics is making strategic moves to focus on robotic actuators and business-to-business (B2B) appliances as key areas for future growth. The company is gearing up for significant orders from global tech giants, showcasing its readiness to enter the mass production phase. The actuators developed by LG are noted for their lightweight, efficiency, and competitive pricing, with the company currently in discussions with major technology firms to secure a substantial initial order.

Earlier this year, LG introduced its LG Axium actuator brand, building on its deep-rooted expertise in motors, drive controls, and component design from its home appliance division. By the end of this year, the company aims to set up a fully automated actuator production line at its Changwon facility. The demand for actuators is anticipated to rise as physical AI and humanoid robotics gain traction, especially around 2030. LG plans to utilize humanoid robots in its Tennessee plant and Changwon smart factory, with future plans to introduce them into household settings as safety technologies advance.

Alongside its actuator initiatives, LG is also amplifying its B2B appliance segment. Both its built-in appliance and commercial laundry branches have seen impressive annual revenue growth exceeding 40% over the past three years. In Europe, LG is bolstering its specialist sales force, expanding its premium built-in brands, and aims to increase its product displays to 3,000 outlets by year-end.

LG’s commercial laundry business is also receiving a boost, with plans to introduce larger-capacity machines and forge stronger partnerships in Southeast Asia. Meanwhile, in the European market, the company is actively promoting high-efficiency appliances, aligning with its ambition to become a leading home appliance provider in the region by 2030.
